New era, new kitchen trends. While minimalism and rose gold appliances were enormous for 2018, the new year is bringing in a couple of unique ideas for the core of the home. If you're planning a kitchen reno--or only want to be inspired--you need to know what designers are doing for 2019. We talked with some of our trusted sources to hear what they are seeinginstalling and -- --this season.

1. White Cabinets Are Over
"I really like the swing toward bold colored cabinetry instead of the expected white," designer Danielle Rollins tells House Beautiful. "It actually provides a kitchen a character and complete. "Denise McGaha agrees, stating she's using color on walls, cabinets, and even appliances (like a plum-colored LaCanche range she's now installing for one blessed client). Need a push? How's this pantry by Jim Dove for inspiration?

2. Minty Fresh
Even more specifically, designers say mint green is your color du jour. "Everyone appears to want light green cabinetry," states Jennifer Beek Hunter, demonstrating this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still piled in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all that color, incorporate natural elements. According to Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"people are falling in love with the abstract canvases painted by Mother Nature and using natural rock beyond countertops. Designers are ongoing the rock material to waterfall tall and edges backsplashes." Occasionally they take the rock all the way to the ceiling, and you can also create drawer fronts and hood vent covers out of natural stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cabinets are becoming bolder, some appliances are carrying another sort of remarkable turn. "Matte black fixtures and hardware are increasing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was a minimal and stark choice in all white contemporary kitchens is presently a fun way to subtly add comparison to wood cabinets and more conventional, Shaker-style kitchens"

5. High Tech
1 trend designer Niki Papadopoulos does not see going anywhere is"tech seamlessly integrated into appliances," she states. The perfect example? Samsung's Family Hub fridge, which includes a touchscreen display, interior cameras, and WiFi connectivity, which means you can search recipes from the refrigerator, see what is inside while you're searching, and leave reminders and notes to family members. Does not get much brighter than that.
