New year, new kitchen tendencies. While minimalism and increased gold appliances were enormous for 2018, the new year is bringing in a couple of different ideas for the core of the household. If you're arranging a kitchen reno--or just want to be inspired--you will need to understand what designers are doing for 2019. We spoke with some of our trusted resources to hear what they are seeing--and installing--this year.

1. White Cabinets Are Over
"I really like the swing toward bold colored cabinetry rather than the expected white," designer Danielle Rollins tells House Beautiful. "It actually gives a kitchen a personality and complete. "Denise McGaha agrees, stating she's using color on walls, cabinets, and even appliances (like a plum-colored LaCanche range she's now installing for one lucky client). Need a push? How's this cabinet by Jim Dove for inspiration?

2. Minty Fresh
Even more specifically, designers say mint green is the color du jour. "Everyone seems to want light green cabinetry," states Jennifer Beek Hunter, proving this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still piled in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all that color, incorporate natural components. In accordance with Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"people are falling in love with all the subjective canvases painted by Mother Nature and utilizing natural stone beyond countertops. Designers are continuing the stone material to waterfall tall and edges backsplashes." Occasionally they take the stone all the way into the ceiling, and you may also fabricate drawer fronts and hood vent covers out of pure stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cupboards are becoming warmer, some appliances are taking a different type of remarkable turn. "Matte black fittings and hardware are growing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was once a stark choice in all white contemporary kitchens is presently a fun way to subtly add contrast to timber cabinets and more traditional, Shaker-style kitchens."

5. High Tech
As our devices get smarter, so, too, do our kitchens. 1 fashion designer Niki Papadopoulos does not see going anywhere is"technology effortlessly incorporated into appliances," she states. The perfect example? Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator, which includes a touchscreen display, inside cameras, and WiFi connectivity, which means it is possible to search recipes from the fridge, see what's inside while you're shopping, and leave notes and reminders to family members. Does not get much brighter than that.
