New era, new kitchen tendencies. While minimalism and increased gold appliances were enormous for 2018, the new year is bringing in a few unique suggestions for the heart of the home. If you are arranging a kitchen reno--or just need to be inspired--you need to know what designers are doing for 2019. We spoke with some of our trusted sources to hear what they're seeing--and installing--this season.
"I love the swing toward bold colored cabinetry instead of the anticipated white," designer Danielle Rollins tells House Beautiful. "It really gives a kitchen a character and finish. "Denise McGaha agrees, stating she is using colour on cabinets, walls, and even appliances (like a plum-colored LaCanche range she is now installing for one lucky client). Need a push? What is this cabinet by Jim Dove for inspiration?
2. Minty Fresh
Even more especially, designers say mint green is your colour du jour. "Everyone appears to need light green cabinetry," states Jennifer Beek Hunter, demonstrating this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still piled in style.
3. Natural Stone
To balance out all that colour, incorporate natural elements. According to Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"people are falling in love with the abstract canvases painted by Mother Nature and utilizing natural rock beyond countertops. Designers are ongoing the rock material to waterfall edges and tall backsplashes." Sometimes they carry the rock all the way to the ceiling, and you can also create drawer fronts and hood vent covers out of natural stone.
4. Matte Black Everything
Meanwhile, as cabinets are getting warmer, some appliances are carrying another sort of dramatic turn. "Matte black fittings and hardware are growing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was a minimal and stark choice in all white contemporary kitchens is presently a fun way to subtly add comparison to timber cabinets and more traditional, Shaker-style kitchens."
5. High Tech
One fashion designer Niki Papadopoulos doesn't see going anywhere is"technology effortlessly incorporated into appliances," she states. The perfect example? Samsung's Family Hub fridge, which includes a touchscreen display, inside cameras, and WiFi connectivity, which means you can search recipes in the fridge, see what is inside while you are shopping, and leave notes and reminders to family members. Does not get much smarter than that.
