New era, new kitchen tendencies. While minimalism and increased gold appliances were huge for 2018, the new year is bringing in a couple of unique suggestions for the core of the household. If you are planning a kitchen reno--or only want to be inspired--you need to understand what designers do for 2019. We spoke with some of our trusted sources to listen to what they're seeinginstalling and -- this season.

1. White Cabinets Are Over
"I love the swing toward bold colored cabinetry instead of the expected white," designer Danielle Rollins tells House Beautiful. "It actually gives a kitchen a character and finish. "Denise McGaha agrees, saying she is using colour on walls, cabinets, and even appliances (like a plum-colored LaCanche range she is now installing for one lucky client). Need a push? What is this cabinet by Jim Dove for inspiration

2. Minty Fresh
Even more specifically, designers say mint green is the colour du jour. "Everyone appears to want light green cabinetry," states Jennifer Beek Hunter, demonstrating this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still squarely in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all that colour, incorporate natural elements. According to Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"individuals are falling in love with all the abstract canvases painted by Mother Nature and using natural stone beyond countertops. Designers are ongoing the stone material to waterfall tall and edges backsplashes." Occasionally they carry the stone all the way to the ceiling, and you can also fabricate drawer fronts and hood vent covers from pure stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cabinets are becoming warmer, some appliances are carrying another sort of remarkable turn. "Matte black fixtures and hardware are increasing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was once a stark choice in white modern kitchens is presently a fun approach to subtly add comparison to wood cabinets and more traditional, Shaker-style kitchens"

5. High Tech
One fashion designer Niki Papadopoulos does not see going anywhere is"technology seamlessly integrated into appliances," she states. The ideal example? Samsung's Family Hub fridge, which includes a touchscreen display, interior cameras, and WiFi connectivity, which means you can search recipes in the fridge, see what is inside while you are searching, and leave notes and reminders to relatives. Does not get much smarter than that.
