New era, new kitchen trends. While minimalism and increased gold appliances were huge for 2018, the new year is bringing in a few different ideas for the core of the home. If you're planning a kitchen reno--or just need to be inspired--you need to understand what designers are doing for 2019. We talked with a few of our trusted resources to hear what they're seeinginstalling and -- this year.

1.
"I really like the swing toward bold colored cabinetry rather than the expected white," designer Danielle Rollins tells House Beautiful. "It really provides a kitchen a personality and complete. "Denise McGaha agrees, stating she is using color on cabinets, walls, as well as appliances (like a plum-colored LaCanche range she is currently installing for one lucky client). Need a drive? What is this cabinet by Jim Dove for inspiration?

2. Minty Fresh
Even more especially, designers say mint green is your color du jour. "Everyone seems to need light green cabinetry," states Jennifer Beek Hunter, demonstrating this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still squarely in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all this color, incorporate natural elements. According to Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"individuals are falling in love with all the subjective canvases painted by Mother Nature and using natural rock beyond countertops. Designers are continuing the rock material to waterfall tall and edges backsplashes." Sometimes they take the rock all the way to the ceiling, and you may even fabricate drawer fronts and hood vent covers from natural stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cabinets are becoming warmer, some appliances are taking a different type of remarkable turn. "Matte black fixtures and hardware are growing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was a minimal and stark choice in white contemporary kitchens is now a fun approach to subtly add contrast to timber cabinets and more traditional, Shaker-style kitchens"

5. High Tech
As our devices get smarter, so, too, do our kitchens. One trend designer Niki Papadopoulos doesn't see going anywhere is"technology seamlessly integrated into appliances," she states. The ideal example? Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator, which features a touchscreen display, inside cameras, and WiFi connectivity, so you can search recipes from the fridge, see what is inside while you're searching, and leave notes and reminders to family members. Does not get much brighter than that.
