New era, new kitchen trends. While minimalism and increased gold appliances were huge for 2018, the new year is bringing in a couple of different ideas for the heart of the household. If you're planning a kitchen reno--or just need to be inspired--you need to understand what designers are doing for 2019. We spoke with a few of our trusted sources to listen to what they are seeinginstalling and -- --this year.

1.
"I love the swing toward daring colored cabinetry instead of the expected white," designer Danielle Rollins tells House Beautiful. "It actually provides a kitchen a character and finish. "Denise McGaha agrees, stating she is using color on walls, cabinets, as well as appliances (such as a plum-colored LaCanche range she is currently installing for one blessed client). Need a push? What is this cabinet by Jim Dove for inspiration

2. Minty Fresh
Even more especially, designers state mint green is the color du jour. Everybody seems to need light green cabinetry," says Jennifer Beek Hunter, demonstrating this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still piled in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all that color, incorporate natural elements. According to Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"individuals are falling in love with the abstract canvases painted by Mother Nature and utilizing natural stone beyond countertops. Designers are continuing the stone material to waterfall tall and edges backsplashes." Occasionally they take the stone all the way to the ceiling, and you may also create drawer fronts and hood vent covers from natural stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cabinets are becoming bolder, some appliances are taking a different type of remarkable turn. "Matte black fixtures and hardware are growing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was once a minimal and stark option in white contemporary kitchens is presently an enjoyable approach to subtly add contrast to wood cabinets and much more traditional, Shaker-style kitchens"

5. High Tech
As our devices get smarter, so, too, do our kitchens. One fashion designer Niki Papadopoulos does not see going anywhere is"tech seamlessly integrated into appliances," she says. The perfect example? Samsung's Family Hub fridge, which features a touch screen, interior cameras, and WiFi connectivity, so you can search recipes in the fridge, see what's inside as you're shopping, and leave notes and reminders to family members. Doesn't get much brighter than that.
