New year, new kitchen tendencies. While minimalism and rose gold appliances were enormous for 2018, the new year is bringing in a few unique ideas for the core of the home. If you are planning a kitchen reno--or only want to get inspired--you will need to understand what designers do for 2019. We talked with a few of our trusted resources to hear what they're seeing--and installing--this year.

1. White Cabinets Are Over
"I love the swing toward bold colored cabinetry instead of the expected white," designer Danielle Rollins informs House Beautiful. "It really provides a kitchen a character and finish. "Denise McGaha agrees, stating she's using colour on walls, cabinets, as well as appliances (such as a plum-colored LaCanche range she's currently installing for one lucky client). Need a push? What is this pantry by Jim Dove for inspiration

2. Minty Fresh
Even more specifically, designers state mint green is your colour du jour. Everybody seems to want light green cabinetry," states Jennifer Beek Hunter, proving this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still squarely in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all this colour, incorporate natural elements. In accordance with Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"individuals are falling in love with all the abstract canvases painted by Mother Nature and using natural rock beyond countertops. Designers are ongoing the rock material to waterfall edges and tall backsplashes." Occasionally they carry the rock all the way into the ceiling, and you may even create drawer fronts and hood vent covers out of natural stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cabinets are getting warmer, some appliances are taking a different type of remarkable turn. "Matte black fixtures and hardware are growing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was once a stark choice in white modern kitchens is now a fun way to subtly add comparison to wood cabinets and much more conventional, Shaker-style kitchens"

5. High Tech
1 fashion designer Niki Papadopoulos doesn't see going anywhere is"technology effortlessly incorporated into appliances," she states. The ideal example? Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator, which includes a touch screen, inside cameras, and WiFi connectivity, which means it is possible to search recipes from the refrigerator, see what's inside as you are shopping, and leave notes and reminders to family members. Doesn't get much brighter than that.
