New year, new kitchen trends. While minimalism and increased gold appliances were enormous for 2018, the new year is bringing in a couple of different suggestions for the heart of the household. If you're arranging a kitchen reno--or only need to get inspired--you will need to know what designers do for 2019. We spoke with some of our trusted sources to hear what they're seeinginstalling and -- this year.

1.
"I love the swing toward daring colored cabinetry rather than the expected white," designer Danielle Rollins informs House Beautiful. "It really gives a kitchen a character and finish. "Denise McGaha agrees, saying she is using color on cabinets, walls, as well as appliances (like a plum-colored LaCanche range she is now installing for one lucky client). Need a push? How's this pantry by Jim Dove for inspiration

2. Minty Fresh
Even more especially, designers say mint green is the color du jour. Everybody seems to need light green cabinetry," states Jennifer Beek Hunter, demonstrating this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still piled in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all that color, incorporate natural components. In accordance with Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"individuals are falling in love with all the subjective canvases painted by Mother Nature and using natural stone beyond countertops. Designers are continuing the stone material to waterfall tall and edges backsplashes." Sometimes they take the stone all the way to the ceiling, and you may even fabricate drawer fronts and hood vent covers from natural stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cupboards are getting warmer, some appliances are taking another sort of dramatic turn. "Matte black fittings and hardware are increasing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was once a minimal and stark option in white modern kitchens is now a fun way to subtly add comparison to wood cabinets and much more traditional, Shaker-style kitchens."

5. High Tech
One trend designer Niki Papadopoulos does not see going anywhere is"technology seamlessly integrated into appliances," she states. The perfect example? Samsung's Family Hub fridge, which features a touchscreen display, inside cameras, and WiFi connectivity, so you can search recipes from the fridge, see what is inside as you're shopping, and leave reminders and notes to relatives. Doesn't get much brighter than that.
