New era, new kitchen trends. While minimalism and increased gold appliances were huge for 2018, the new year is bringing in a couple of unique ideas for the heart of the household. If you're planning a kitchen reno--or just want to be inspired--you will need to know what designers are doing for 2019. We spoke with a few of our trusted sources to hear what they are seeing--and installing--this season.

1. White Cabinets Are Over
"I love the swing toward bold colored cabinetry instead of the anticipated white," designer Danielle Rollins informs House Beautiful. "It really gives a kitchen a character and finish. "Denise McGaha agrees, stating she's using color on cabinets, walls, as well as appliances (such as a plum-colored LaCanche range she's now installing for one blessed client). Need a push? How's this cabinet by Jim Dove for inspiration

2. Minty Fresh
Even more especially, designers say mint green is the color du jour. Everybody appears to want light green cabinetry," states Jennifer Beek Hunter, demonstrating this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still squarely in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all that color, incorporate natural components. According to Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"individuals are falling in love with all the abstract canvases painted by Mother Nature and using natural rock beyond countertops. Designers are continuing the rock material to waterfall tall and edges backsplashes." Sometimes they carry the rock all the way to the ceiling, and you may also create drawer fronts and hood vent covers from pure stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cupboards are getting bolder, some appliances are taking another sort of remarkable turn. "Matte black fittings and hardware are increasing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was once a stark choice in all white modern kitchens is presently an enjoyable way to subtly add comparison to wood cabinets and more conventional, Shaker-style kitchens."

5. High Tech
One trend designer Niki Papadopoulos does not see going anywhere is"tech effortlessly incorporated into appliances," she states. The perfect example? Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator, which features a touchscreen display, inside cameras, and WiFi connectivity, which means it is possible to search recipes in the fridge, see what is inside while you're shopping, and leave reminders and notes to relatives. Does not get much smarter than that.
