New year, new kitchen trends. While minimalism and increased gold appliances were huge for 2018, the new year is bringing in a few unique ideas for the core of the household. If you are planning a kitchen reno--or only want to get inspired--you will need to know what designers do for 2019. We spoke with some of our trusted sources to hear what they're seeinginstalling and -- this season.

1. White Cabinets Are Over
"I really like the swing toward bold colored cabinetry rather than the expected white," designer Danielle Rollins informs House Beautiful. "It really provides a kitchen a character and complete. "Denise McGaha agrees, saying she is using colour on cabinets, walls, as well as appliances (such as a plum-colored LaCanche range she is now installing for one lucky client). Need a push? What is this pantry by Jim Dove for inspiration

2. Minty Fresh
Even more specifically, designers say mint green is the colour du jour. Everybody appears to want light green cabinetry," says Jennifer Beek Hunter, proving this kitchen by Young Huh from 2012 is still piled in style.

3. Natural Stone
To balance out all this colour, incorporate natural components. According to Los Angeles-based Natalie Meyers,"individuals are falling in love with the subjective canvases painted by Mother Nature and using natural rock beyond countertops. Designers are continuing the rock material to waterfall tall and edges backsplashes." Occasionally they carry the rock all the way to the ceiling, and you may even fabricate drawer fronts and hood vent covers from natural stone.

4. Matte Black Everything

Meanwhile, as cabinets are getting warmer, some appliances are carrying another sort of remarkable turn. "Matte black fixtures and hardware are growing in popularity," Meyers says. "What was a minimal and stark option in white contemporary kitchens is now a fun way to subtly add comparison to timber cabinets and much more conventional, Shaker-style kitchens"

5. High Tech
1 trend designer Niki Papadopoulos does not see going anywhere is"technology seamlessly integrated into appliances," she says. The perfect example? Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator, which includes a touchscreen display, inside cameras, and WiFi connectivity, so you can search recipes from the fridge, see what's inside while you are searching, and leave notes and reminders to relatives. Does not get much brighter than that.
